B&NES Local Plan Engagement

For Design West we led Local Plan engagement for B&NES.This focused on the rural areas of the district and Bath and its surroundings. We held workshops with officers to adapt the themes of the West of England Placemaking Charter to suit the emerging local plan objectives and to identify key questions for stakeholders. We ran two sets of workshops with stakeholders one to gather views another to feedback and invite views on potential local plan responses.

In collaboration with public health policy officers’ engagement was also held with seldom heard groups and with young people at Chew Valley School. The feedback from this engagement was also fed back to the stakeholder groups. In the rural areas we explored an update to the key facilities people need access to and ways to cluster or group villages to network existing facilities through active travel.
