For Design West we led a six month research and engagement programme for Sidmouth Town Council looking at Young People’s services across the town.

The research was to inform the future role and design brief for the town’s youth club and the provision of services and opportunities for young people more generally. Working with the town council’s steering group we ran stakeholder workshops, an online survey and a series of workshops with young people at the youth club and Sidmouth Academy. Together these explored the potential future role and identity of the youth club – the use of public spaces, buildings and shops for recreation and hopes for work and volunteering opportunities.

The research focused on young people from 10-24 yrs old, the digital survey enabled us to identify how views differed across age groups.
